Psychedelic therapy (Psychedelic Assisted Therapy or PAT) is a refined process that utilises specific modalities to help guide participants through psychedelic experiences. It incorporates three equally important stages: preparation, dosing session and integration. The implementation of all three stages has been shown to significantly increase outcomes, compared to engaging in the dosing sessions alone.

In Australia, beginning from July 1, 2023, medicines containing psychedelic substances psilocybin and MDMA can be prescribed by specifically authorised psychiatrists for PTSD and treatment resistant depression. Whilst I am not an authorised prescriber, I offer psychedelic support in the form of up-to-date information about treatment options, providers and modalities. I also offer psychedelic integration therapy in the form of psychoeducation and harm reduction interventions to those people who make their own choices to engage in substance use.

Psychedelic integration therapy is therefore designed to help you prepare for, navigate, interpret and integrate psychedelic experiences. Often, the major outcomes from psychedelic use have been shown to develop after the journey has ended. It is during these next hours, days, weeks and months that transformation can take place - and the resulting changes may be integrated into your everyday life.

Sometimes, psychedelic experiences do not go according to plan nor meet your expectations. These journeys may feel traumatic or like a ‘bad trip’. Understanding the interplay between your expectations, beliefs, set/setting and outcomes, can assist you in making sense of and finding resolution for these experiences.

Individuals who have participated in psychedelic journeys can therefore benefit from a more comprehensive interpretation of their process, gained insights as well as assistance in integrating their experiences.

Coupling my own extensive personal experiences with relevant trainings, the understanding of psychosomatic science, transpersonal psychology, shamanic rituals, set, setting, preparation and integration, can become a part of your support framework; offering an open minded, judgement-free, compassionate and confidential solution.
